Kathmandu, 10 March. Presided over by the Right Honourable Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’, the second quarterly/half-yearly progress review and Ministerial Development Action Committee (MDAC) meeting of the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers, as well as its subordinate agencies, concluded on Sunday.
In the meeting, a comprehensive report was presented, detailing the progress of the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers, along with its agencies, up to the second quarter of the current fiscal year. The report highlighted implementation challenges and proposed steps for improvement.
Following its presentation, comments on the report were provided by the secretaries and the heads of agencies under the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers.
During the concluding remarks, the Honorable Prime Minister underscored the need for the Office of the Prime Minister and the Council of Ministers, along with its agencies, to engage in monthly discussions to assess their performance and progress towards goals, with a dedicated focus on identifying and addressing problems while actively undertaking improvement endeavors. He emphasized that the Prime Minister’s Office should serve as an exemplar for the entire bureaucracy.
Stressing the cultivation of a culture focused on achieving set goals within stipulated timeframes and enhancing overall effectiveness and strategic performance, the Right Honourable Prime Minister instructed for the prompt implementation of the recently approved Organization and Management Survey of the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers.
The Right Honourable Prime Minister also directed to working dynamically according to the ‘Minimum Common Program,’ to be set under changed context, analyze the current fiscal year’s performance, and start preparing for the next year, given that the policy, program, and budget process for the upcoming year is already in progress.
Present at the meeting were the advisors of the Right Honourable Prime Minister, the Chief Secretary of the Government of Nepal, secretaries, and other officials from the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers, along with its subordinate agencies.
